Naomi Klein was just a guest on Countdown and was discussing Irag in reference to the conecpt of the "The Shock Doctrine." Back in September, I read wonderful diary on the conept of shock posted here in Daily Kos. The diary can be find on the link below:

I have to thank Itsmitch, for that diary because my curiosity got the better of me. I went ahead and viewed the rest of the videos on You Tube after reading the diary. Being the avid reader that I am, my mother asked me what I wanted for my birthday back in October and I said, "The Shock Doctrine."
There have been many diaries on this book and I am not going to rehash the whole book in this diary. What I will do is give an example of the type of disasters that promote disaster capitalism. After the tsunami hit Sri Lanka and Indonesia, the land on the coasts of those countries was immeidately sold to the hotel industry. The people, who lived and made a living of fishing, were kicked out and were to shock to react. In a regular state of mind, these people would have never have given up their land. Those in power took advantage of this tragedy and shock to pass these unpopular reforms.
If you want a synopsis, read Itsmitch's diary or do a search for diaries and type in Naomi Klein. What I will say is that Naomi's book is capitvating. I have spent many nights reading my book up till 2:00 in the morning. I am in the process of finishing the book. I just have not had time to finish it because I am preparing to start a new job. Believe me it is worth the read, so please, if you have not read it then pick it up.
